Render & façade plaster: our expertise

Render and textured plaster are coatings that protect exterior walls while giving them their final look. They can modernise a brick house, even out a repaired façade or finish external wall insulation.

There are several product families – mineral renders based on lime or cement, silicate renders, silicone or acrylic renders – and several finishes: scraped, floated, grooved, finer or coarser. We help you choose based on the surface, the exposure of the façade and the look you want.

Good render depends above all on good preparation: a clean, sound and even surface, a bonding coat or reinforcement where needed, and respecting drying times. These steps, invisible once the job is finished, are where we put the most care. Details matter too: corners, plinths, stop edges around window frames and junctions with neighbouring materials.

What we do

Advice

Choosing the type of render, texture and colour according to the surface and exposure.

Preparation

Cleaning, repairing defects and levelling the surface.

Bonding coat

Primer or base coat reinforced with mesh when the surface requires it.

Profiles

Fitting corner, plinth and stop profiles around openings.

Finish

Applying the render and creating the chosen texture: scraped, floated or grooved.

Materials and techniques

  • Mineral renders: Based on lime or cement, valued for their natural look.
  • Silicate renders: Good water-vapour permeability, suitable for many mineral surfaces.
  • Silicone renders: Water-repellent and easy to maintain, often chosen for exposed façades.
  • Reinforcing mesh: Strengthens the base coat and limits the risk of cracking.

Materials are chosen case by case, after the visit, depending on the surface and your project.

Why it matters

Energy

Render is the usual finish for external wall insulation: renovating and insulating can be done in one go.

Weatherproofing

Well-applied render protects the masonry from driving rain while letting the wall breathe.

Appearance

An even façade, in the colour and texture of your choice, instantly modernises the house.

Frequently asked questions

Can render be applied to brick?

Yes, provided the brick is sound and properly prepared. Depending on the condition of the wall, a bonding coat or reinforced base coat is applied before the finish.

What is the difference between textured plaster and render?

In everyday language the two words are often used interchangeably. Render refers to the coating in general; textured plaster usually means a structured finish.

Which colour should I choose?

Light colours reflect more heat and often age better. We show you colour charts and can make a sample on site.

How do you maintain render?

Gentle cleaning from time to time and a regular visual check are usually enough. Depending on exposure, dirt or moss may appear; suitable cleaning removes it. Avoid high-pressure cleaning too close to the surface.
